How do I use the Jetpay Reports dashboard?

See your volume, fees and net payouts for any date range, and match deposits to your bank statement.

The new Reports tab in your Jetpay dashboard shows your volume, fees and net payouts for any date range. You can see every settled bank transfer and credit card transaction in one place, with a full fee breakdown and an export.

Use it to answer questions like:

  • How much did we process last week, and how many payments was that?
  • How much of our volume came from EFT and how much from cards?
  • What did we pay in fees, and what landed in our bank account?
  • Which transactions make up a deposit we just received?
Open your reports

The page stays empty until you choose a date range.

  1. Sign in to your Jetpay dashboard.
  2. Click Reports in the top menu, to the right of Settings. The Transaction Reports page opens.
  3. Click Select date range. A two-month calendar opens.
  4. Click a start date, then an end date. Use the arrows or the month and year menus to move between months.
  5. Click Done. The charts and totals load for that period.

To start over, open the calendar again and click Clear.

Tip: Dates are based on each transaction's settlement date, the day the funds settled. They are not based on the day you created the payment request. That way the report lines up with your bank deposits.

Read the charts

Three charts at the top of the page summarize the period you picked, grouped by week. Hover over any bar or point to see its exact value.

Chart What it shows Use it to
Transaction Volume & Value Trends Purple bars show the dollar volume for each week. The green line shows the number of transactions. Spot busy and slow weeks, and check whether a change came from more payments or larger payments.
Payment Method Breakdown A ring chart that splits your volume by payment method, such as EFT and Visa. See how much of your business is paid by bank transfer and how much by card.
Fees & Net Payout Analysis Weekly bars for Net Payout, Customer Fees, Merchant Fees and Platform Fees. See what you kept after fees each week, and who paid the fees.

A bar can drop below $0 in a week where money went out, for example a refund or an outgoing EFT payment, and that outflow was larger than what came in.

View transaction details

Under the charts there are two sections, Bank Transfers and Credit card transactions. Each one shows a Total Count and a Total Amount for the period you picked. Click the arrow on the right of a section to open its Transaction details table. The table is wide, so scroll sideways to see every column. The Total column stays pinned on the right.

Columns in both tables

Column What it means
Deposit Account The Jetpay account the transaction settled to.
Settlement Date The date and time the transaction settled.
Customer The contact who paid you or who you paid.
Statement The statement description entered on the payment, often an invoice number.
Amount The payment amount before fees.
Merchant Fee % / Merchant Fee Paid The fee rate charged to you, and its dollar amount.
Platform Fee % The total fee rate on the transaction.

Credit Card Transactions

Column What it means
Card Number The last four digits of the card. The rest of the number is always hidden.
Card Type The card brand. Payments made with Apple Pay or Google Pay show as, for example, visa_applepay.
Transaction Sale or Refund.

Total Merchant Fee Paid / Total Platform Fee Paid The total fee you paid, and the total fee charged on the transaction.

Summary under each table

At the bottom of each table you'll see Volume, Merchant Fees Paid, Customer Fees Paid and Total After Fees. Total After Fees is the figure to compare with what landed in your bank account.

Search and export
  • Search: Type in the Search transactions box above a table to find a payment by customer name, statement description or amount.
  • Export: Click Export at the top right of a table to download those transactions for your selected date range. Each section exports on its own, so export Bank Transfers and Credit card transactions separately if you need both.

Exports are useful for your bookkeeper or for importing into your accounting software.

Match a deposit to your bank statement

Card payments are deposited net of fees. If you sell $1,000 at a 2% fee, $980 lands in your bank account. Your sales software will show $1,000. Use Reports to show where the difference went.

  1. Note the date and amount of the deposit on your bank statement.
  2. In Reports, set the date range to cover that settlement date.
  3. Open Credit card transactions or Bank Transfers, depending on the deposit.
  4. Check that Total After Fees matches the deposit. Use Merchant Fees Paid for the fee amount to record in your books.
  5. Click Export if your bookkeeper needs the transaction list.

Frequently asked questions:

Why is the page blank when I open it?
No date range is selected yet. Click Select date range, choose your dates and click Done.

Why doesn't a payment I just created appear?
Reports show settled transactions only. A payment appears once it settles. To check a payment that's still in progress, use the Payments tab.

What's the difference between Merchant Fees and Customer Fees?
Merchant fees are deducted from your payout. Customer fees, such as a card surcharge, are paid by your customer on top of the payment amount. They are not taken from what you receive.

Why is a weekly bar below zero?
Refunds and outgoing EFT payments reduce your total. A week with more money out than in shows as a negative bar.
